Karen Bancroft

I take inspiration from contrasts of size, shape, material, texture, movement, and colour seen within my surroundings, the city, the sea, the countryside. Another inspirational element is the rhythmical nature of repetition in both design and creation.  Thus, the combination of contrasts, repetition, and the use of a variety of silversmithing techniques are fundamental to my work practice.

Utilizing the basics of tools, eyes, and hands, these works have all been hand-fabricated, allowing the uniqueness of each part of the creative process to combine into the final cohesive pieces.
