Artist Statement
My work explores attitudes toward feminine creative expression and the boundary between craft and art. My curiosity is driven by notions of function, beauty, and value—and how these ideas intersect and evolve through material and process.
By manipulating metal using traditional textile techniques, I aim to amplify and celebrate the intricate labour and skill embedded in the decorative arts. The resistant nature of metal only heightens the complexity, demanding precision and control with every stitch. In doing so, I draw attention to the often-overlooked mastery and intentionality behind what is too often dismissed as ornamental or feminine.
